Dr. Kathleen Gordon
Dr. Kathleen Gordon is a board certified ophthalmologist with an
interest in comprehensive ophthalmology. She obtained her undergraduate
degrees from The University of California, Irvine where she graduated
with honors with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor
of Arts in Spanish Literature. Dr. Gordon completed her medical
degree at Cornell University Medical College in 1988.
After an internship at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Bridgeport,
Connecticut, Dr. Gordon returned to Cornell for specialty training
in ophthalmology. There she served as resident physician for The
New York Hospital, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and the
Hospital for Special Surgery.
Dr. Gordon continued her ophthalmology training at the University
of California, San Francisco with a two year fellowship in ocular
oncology. During that time, she served on the UCSF faculty as clinical
instructor. In 1994, Dr. Gordon was appointed to the full-time faculty
at UCSF as director of Comprehensive Ophthalmology and of the hospital
consultation service.
Dr. Gordon joined the Eye Medical Clinic of Santa Clara Valley
in July1999 while maintaining an appointment as Assistant Clinical
Professor of Ophthalmology at UCSF. After moving to North Carolina,
she joined North Carolina Eye, Ear Nose and Throat, in July of 2004.
Dr. Gordon was appointed to the faculty of the University of North
Carolina Chapel Hill in July of 2007. She has authored multiple
publications on the diagnosis and treatment of ocular malignancies
and other eye disorders and she is a fellow of the American Academy
of Ophthalmology.
