The Hand Surgery Conference at WakeMed is held on Mondays from 12:00-1:00pm. Current topics in all areas of hand surgery including trauma, congenital, peripheral nerve compression, arthritis, and hand therapy are covered. The conference is attended by Attending staff & hand surgeons, residents, and therapists.

The Trauma Conference is held from 6:40-7:25am on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Thursdays of each month. This rotating, two-year specialty conference provides the residents with a separate and focused educational opportunity in trauma and reconstruction. It is presented simultaneously to the residents both at WakeMed in Raleigh and at UNC through video teleconferencing.

Fracture Conference/"Fracture of the Week" Journal Club is held every Friday from 6:30 - 7:30 AM. During the first half of the conference, residents present interesting surgical cases in which they participated during the prior week. During the second half of the conference, 3-4 articles pertaining to a specific fracture are discussed by all attendees.

Grand Rounds are held on Friday mornings at 7:30 AM.
