UNC Department of Pharmacology Ranked #1
NIH has ranked the UNC Department of Pharmacology #1 for extramural funding for fiscal year 2005 out of 100 pharmacology departments nationally!
New Building
The Pharmacology Department has finally begun moving into the new Genetic Medicine Building as of December, 2008. It will be a state of the art research facility designed to foster interdisciplinary research. Latest photos!

Dr. R. Jude Samulski has been awarded a $5 Million grant to establish a national center for canine models of muscular dystrophy at the Gene Therapy Center at UNC. In May, Dr. Samulski also received the first ever Oustanding Achievement Award given by The American Society for Gene Therapy.

Pharmacology Department holds SECC 2008 event: The Halloween Candy Jar Contest. All labs and the admin office participated in trying to guess the number of pieces of candy in the jar. All procedes benefit the SECC. The winner of the Candy Jar: Rudy Juliano. Congratulations, Rudy!
