Zebrafish Research Core Facility
at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
 
 

We are pleased to announce the upcoming opening of the Zebrafish Reseach Core Facility at UNC-CH, located at the Glaxo Building Room 024. The primary objective of this facility is to provide resources for UNC investigators to use zebrafish as a model organism.

The proposed Core Facility will be operated as an IACUC-approved DLAM Satellite Facility. Drs. Suk-Won Jin and John Rawls (the principle investigators), and Ed Flynn (the facility manager) have over 20 years of combined experience in zebrafish husbandry and research.

 
Services Offered:

  Stock Maintenance: Wild-type, mutant lines and transgenic lines
2.
  Quarantine Facility
3.
  Embryo Production
 
4.
  Microinjections: Morpholino and mis-expression
5.
  Transgenesis
6.
  Phenotypic Evaluation
     
These services and their pricing information will be available to UNC investigators in early 2007. Please note that interested labs might be required to obtain their own zebrafish IACUC protocol before using the Core Facility.
