Research Interests:

  1. Physiology of human airway epithelia. Fresh tissues and cell culture models are used to evaluate gene expression and physiological functions of surface epithelia and submucosal glands from normal and diseased tissues.
  2. Cystic fibrosis in adults. Basic science and clinical studies of disease pathophysiology, treatment and outcomes.
  3. Clinical research databases. Development of relational databases that will facilitate the investigation of genetic, environmental and treatment effects of the course of chronic lung diseases.
