UNC LUNG CENTER SMOKING CESSATION PROGRAM
Smoking is undoubtedly one of the greatest preventable
health hazards our society faces. Among the many ill effects of
smoking, it significantly contributes to the development of heart
disease, emphysema, chronic bronchitis, and lung cancer. Because
smoking is such a difficult habit to break, yet so important,
the UNC Lung Center has developed a smoking cessation program
for those who are ready to quit! The course addresses smoking
habits, the formation of a quitting plan, the use of medications
to aid quitting, stress management/support, exercise and nutrition,
and tips to prevent relapse into smoking again.
