The Bullitt Club is pleased to announce the second

annual McLendon-Thomas Award in the History of Medicine, an essay competition open to all UNC-Chapel Hill students in the health sciences. The deadline for submissions is April 1, 2009. For further information, please see the competition guidelines. [PDF]

Mission: The Bullitt History of Medicine Club promotes the understanding and appreciation of the historical foundations upon which current medical knowledge and practice is constructed, by encouraging social and intellectual exchanges between faculty members, medical students, and members of the community.

 

Meetings: The Bullitt Club holds monthly evening meetings in collaboration with the Duke Trent History of Medicine Society. Meetings alternate location between the UNC-Chapel Hill Health Sciences Library and the Duke University Medical Library during the academic year. The Bullitt Club also holds a series of noon meetings at the Health Sciences Library. All meetings are free and open to the public.

Meeting Times: Evening meetings begin at 5:30pm with a light refreshments; presentations begin at 6:00pm. Daytime meetings run from noon to 1:00pm, also with light refreshments.
