Throughout his 36 year career, Dean Smith led the North Carolina men's basketball team to 879 victories, two national championships and 25 NCAA tournaments. He was head coach of the Gold-Medal winning basketball team at the 1976 Olympics. He has also been National Coach of the Year four times and is a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame. Dean Smith is an honorary MEDWorld supporter and has joined us in our efforts to improve healthcare in developing nations around the world.
