MEDWorld Warehouse

All MEDWorld supplies are inspected, inventoried and packaged at the MEDWorld warehouse. All donations are made from the warehouse. Supplies are donated in individual boxes or several boxes loaded on to a wooden board for easy transport. Each wooden board contains approximately 15 boxes and measures approximately 4’x5’. The warehouse has levers to help load the boxes, however all trucks used for supply pick ups must have a loading ramp or a similar device which can be used to connect the truck to the warehouse ramp.

Instructions to the warehouse:The warehouse is located off of Hwy 15-501 South in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. It may be reached via Hwy 54 West or Hwy 15-501 South. To reach the warehouse from I-40, take the Hwy 54 West (exit 273) and drive towards Chapel Hill. As you enter Chapel Hill, Hwy 54West joins Hwy 15-501 South towards Manning Drive where UNC Hospitals are located. Drive on this joint Hwy and go past Manning Drive (Do not turn right on to Manning towards the hospital), keep going for about ¾ mile past Manning take the 15-501 South exit on your right, get on the ramp and make a left at the top of the ramp and continue South on 15-501. Pass Southern Village (three stop lights) and at the fourth stop light (~3miles) there is a Gas Station and Smith Level Road on the right. Make a right (sharp right) on Smith level road and take a quick left into the parking lot (gravel road) for STARPOINT STORAGE. This storage area houses the MEDWorld warehouse. The front office is open 8:30-5:00PM on M-F and 9AM-12N on Saturdays. To schedule a shipment, you may contact us at MEDWorld@med.unc.edu and address the email to “MEDWorld Shipping Coordinator.”
