The Bloomer Hill Clinic is a free medical clinic located in Whitakers, NC and run jointly by UNC medical students and local community organizers. The clinic represents the UNC chapter of the North Carolina Student Rural Health Coalition, a group working in partnership with communities to promote accessible health care in rural communities across North Carolina.

Our mission is:

  • To provide free health care to underserved communities in rural, eastern North Carolina
  • To facilitate access to specialized health care services
  • To provide educational resources that promote health and wellness
  • To teach UNC medical students about the conditions that contribute to poor health in underserved, rural communities and to assist them in developing skills needed to address those health concerns in these communities

The Bloomer Hill Clinic is made possible by financial support from the North Carolina Area Health Education Centers Program, the Whitehead Medical Society, and the Medical Alumni Association.
