Rising 2nd years!
Starting this summer and next year you have the opportunity to do more at SHAC, the student run free clinic in Carrboro, and gain more clinical experience as a Medical Team Junior Volunteer!
An MTJ works one-on-one with an MS3/MS4 medical student (or Nurse Practitioner student) to help interview patients, perform a physical, come up with a plan, consult with the attending, and write SOAP notes. SHAC takes place on Wednesday nights at 6pm.
If you are want to volunteer many times next year or even just once you need to sign up for one of the 50 minute Mandatory SHAC Training Sessions that will take place Wednesday, May 7th or Tuesday, May 13th . At the training session you will be oriented to the clinic and your role as a MTJ. These meetings will take place in MacNider 322 from 12-1.
The SignUp Genius for SHAC volunteer positions will be sent after the first meeting and summer clinics will begin May 14th!
If you have any questions please feel free to contact any one of the MTJ Coordinators:

Looking forward to seeing you!
