The NC TraCS $5K - $50K Translational Research Matched Pilot Grant Program serves as a stimulus for new research initiatives aimed at obtaining sufficient preliminary data to allow new applications for extramural funding. NC TraCS will award one-year grants of up to $25,000 which must be matched for total awards of up to $50,000. Cross-disciplinary basic science research addressing the development of therapies, diagnostics or devices applicable to human disease, clinical research/trials, epidemiological studies, and/or community-based research are considered eligible for these awards. UNC-CH researchers who hold a faculty appointment or an appointment which allows them to serve as PI on an externally sponsored research project are eligible to apply. Pilot grants are 12 month awards and are offered three times each year.
