Promoting Environmental Justice for Community Health Workshop

The NC TraCS Institute, the UNC-CH Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, and NC SPEED are proudly co-sponsoring a FREE workshops for community members or leaders and academic staff or faculty interested in research and environmental justice. The “Promoting Environmental Justice for Community Health” workshop is an interactive training on successful strategies to advocate for environmental equity. Two community leaders, David Caldwell and Naeema Muhammad, will describe their success in addressing environmental justice and public health issues through academic and community research partnerships. You will also learn how to: · Identify policy change strategies for environmental issues in your community · Understand the importance of research to your advocacy cause · Connect with researchers who have an interest in your environmental justice issue
