Research Ethics in the Community: Understanding IRB in Community Research
NC TraCS Institute, Carolina Community Network, UNC Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, and Wake AHEC presents a community workshop to introduce the need and function of IRB to community members who either currently work with the University or who are interested in becoming research partners. Workshop does not include IRB certification, but does include tools to use when community members are ready to be certified. By the conclusion of the workshop, participants will be able to: •Understand the role of the Institutional Review Board in research•Describe the importance of research ethics •Understand the history of research ethics in the United States•Be prepared to become certified in CITI Training at UNC-Chapel Hill Instructors include: Geni Eng, PhD, Alexandra Lightfoot, PhD, Rev.
