DESCRIPTION:Ruth-Marie E. Fincher\, MD\, MACP is Professor of Medicine
  and Vice Dean for Academic Affairs at the Medical College of Georgia 
 at Georgia Health Sciences University. She joined the MCG faculty in 1
 984 and has been the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs since 1994. She is
  the founding co-director of the GHSU Educational Innovation Institute
 .\nDr. Fincher has been widely recognized for contributions to the fie
 ld of medical education\, including receipt of University System of Ge
 orgia Regents’ Hall of Fame Faculty Award for Education (inaugural r
 ecipient\, 2004)\, AAMC/GEA Merrel D. Flair Award for Medical Educatio
 n (2006)\, American College of Physician’s Jane Desforges Distinguis
 hed Teacher Award (2011)\, and NBME Edithe Levit Distinguished Service
  Award (2011).\nShe has had many educational leadership roles\, includ
 ing president of the Clerkship Directors in Internal Medicine\, co-cha
 ir of the AAMC’s Research in Medical Education Committee and chair o
 f its Group on Educational Affairs (GEA)\, serving on the National Boa
 rd of Medical Examiners Executive Board\, and serving on the AAMC Boar
