DESCRIPTION:James W. Bunn is the president of Global Health Communicat
 ions. He’s an accomplished broadcast journalist and producer/writer/
 director whose work has been recognized with the industry’s highest 
 honors – The Peabody Award\, six Emmy Awards\, and the Cable Ace Awa
 rd.\n\nIn the early 1980’s\, as a broadcast journalist\, he began re
 porting on a little-known story at the time – the AIDS epidemic. In 
 addition to covering the story\, he initiated “AIDS Lifeline”\, a 
 public awareness and health education campaign that was syndicated to 
 television stations nationwide and honored with a Peabody Award\, a lo
 cal Emmy\, and the first National Emmy ever awarded a local station.\n
 \nAt a White House ceremony in 1987 the “AIDS Lifeline” project wa
 s honored with a Presidential Citation for Private Sector Initiatives\
 , presented by President Ronald Reagan.\n\nMr. Bunn was then asked by 
 the U.S. government to take a two-year leave-of-absence living abroad 
 to work for the United Nations. Stationed in Geneva with the World Hea
 lth Organization\, Mr. Bunn was the first public information officer f
 or what is now known as UNAIDS. There he co- created\, designed\, and 
 implemented the inaugural World AIDS Day observance\, the longest-runn
 ing disease awareness and prevention initiative of its kind in the his
 tory of public health.
