Busby-Whitehead appointed chair of national healthy aging

Tuesday, February 10, 2009 — Dr. Jan Busby-Whitehead, a professor in the department of medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s School of Medicine, has been elected chair of the board of the American Geriatrics Society’s Foundation for Health in Aging.

The foundation is a national non-profit organization that aims link geriatrics research and practices and the public, and to advocate on behalf of older adults and their special health-care needs.

Busby-Whitehead is chief of the medical school’s division of geriatric medicine and director of the program on aging, and associate director for clinical practice for the UNC Institute on Aging.
