UNC medical school opens new global health office

Tuesday, March 31, 2009 — The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine is opening a new office designed to act as a hub for global health activities within the school.

The Office of International Activities will help develop programs and support UNC medical students interested in global health electives, and provide guidance for medical student-led initiatives.

The office will also work with medical school’s student affairs office to help international students working at UNC and with residency directors to promote international experiences for residents.

It will also collaborate and cooperate with other global health and education initiatives across the UNC campus.

The office officially opens on Wednesday (April 1).
