Monday, November 1, 2010 — The joint NIH (to UNC), Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland matching grant totals roughly $2 million a year over four years.

A Washington, D.C. breakfast sponsored by the embassies of the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland was held Oct. 20, 2010 to kickoff an international collaboration in cystic fibrosis research.

Participants included national officials from both Irelands, senior officials from the National Institutes of Health, Dept. of State and corresponding scientific agencies from all three countries.
