HISTONE  ANTIBODIES

There are an enormous number of post-translational modification specific antibodies that have been developed by both academic research labs and commercial sources for the study of histone modifications.  Many chromatin labs have informally noted that these antibodies cross-react with other histone PTMs.  Furthermore, little is known about how modifications neighboring the intended epitope modulate binding. We have developed an array-based technique for measuring the binding of histone PTM-specific antibodies to greater than 100 peptides harboring one or more PTMs.  As we collect data on antibodies we make or purchase, we will report their binding specificities here.  This is intended as a resource for researchers but we will never be able to test all the available histone PTM-specific antibodies (currently >1500).  However, if you would like information on a specific antibody and you don’t see it below, please contact us and we can try to add it to our queue.
