Dr. Adrian Austin
Geriatrics Fellow, 2013-2014
I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2005 with a BA in Religious Studies. Afterwards, I attended medical school in my home state of Mississippi at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. I completed internship and residency in Internal Medicine here at the University of North Carolina before starting a Geriatrics fellowship. After completing one year of Geriatrics training, I intend to pursue further training in Pulmonary and Critical Care.
My career and research interests relate to care of the critically ill elderly. Specifically, I am interested in the treatment of septic shock in the elderly and in the prevention/treatment of delirium in the critically ill.
