DESCRIPTION:Join UNC’s CGWEP (Carolina Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program) and Wake AHEC on Friday February 22nd for a day-long conference on “A Person / Family Centered Approach to Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementia Care.” The workshop will provide a safe and supportive space for families\, patients\, caregivers\, and providers to share strategies and best practices on: \n\nproviding high-quality care for patients with ADRD\nimproving the quality of life for ADRD patients — and caregivers\nlearning which medications should be avoided for someone with ADRD\, and more\n\nThe conference will be held at Raleigh’s McKimmon Conference and Training Center on Friday February 22. SUMMARY:Opioids & Aging Symposium
DESCRIPTION:This training brings together APS and Guardianship Social Workers from County Departments of Social Services and addiction professionals who work with individuals and families impacted by opioids to develop a basic knowledge of the issues\, challenges\, and opportunities facing vulnerable adults and families impacted by the opioid crisis. Focus areas include the effects of opioids on vulnerable adults\, prevention and treatment resources\, and the importance of community partnerships in addressing this complex and devastating crisis. \nSupported in part through funding from the NC Division of MH/DD/SUSD via the SAPT Block Grant at SAMHSA (US Department of Health and Human Services | Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration)
