One of these events was the Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP) pre-conference session. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/medicine\/geriatrics\/people\/jan-busby-whitehead-md\/\">Dr. Jan Busby-Whitehead<\/a> kicked off the session with a welcome and introduction.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, a pre-conference &#8216;GWEP Marketplace&#8217; allowed attendees to learn more about various programs from around the nation. Along with Dr. Busby-Whitehead, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/aging\/directory\/jennifer-hubbard-bba\/\">Dr. Ellen Roberts<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/aging\/directory\/jennifer-hubbard-bba\/\">Jennifer Hubbard<\/a> represented the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/aging\/cgwep\">CGWEP (Carolina Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Presentations and Sessions<\/h3>\n<p>Both the Division and the Center were solidly represented in presentations and sessions throughout the conference. This year&#8217;s AGS annual meeting featured several faculty presenters and one medical student presentation.<\/p>\n<h4>Thursday, May 4<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/medicine\/geriatrics\/people\/john-a-batsis-md\/\">Dr. John Batsis<\/a> moderated a session entitled <em>Journeying Out of Journals: Sharing Your Findings with the Community<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Friday, May 5<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/medicine\/geriatrics\/people\/laura-hanson-md-mph\/\">Dr. Laura Hanson<\/a> presented <em>Comfort First: Web-based Video Training for Comfort Matters Dementia Care<\/em> at the Geriatric Education Materials &amp; Methods Swap<\/li>\n<li>Third year UNC Medical Student Caroline Buse presented <em>Put Students at the Helm! In total, there were 44 posters from Center for Aging and Health researchers; Division of Geriatric Medicine faculty, residents, and fellows; UNC School of Medicine students; MSTAR students; and MSTAR alumni.
