Care of the Older Patient Students and faculty<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Congratulations to Dr. Lindsay Wilson<\/a> and her Care of the Older Patient Students<\/a> on their recent publication to JAGS.<\/p>\n

Entitled Evidence-Based Footwear Recommendations for Older Adults: Enhancing Mobility, Comfort, and Fall Prevention<\/em>,<\/strong> the publication evaluates shoe wear characteristics that address geriatric needs.<\/p>\n

In the publication, the students synthesize recommendations from over 45\u2009years of clinical experience in physical therapy. In addition, it identifies effective shoe features, including sole stiffness, tread patterns, heel elevation, and orthotic modifications to improve function, reduce pain, and reduce fall risk<\/a>.<\/p>\n
