UNC-Chapel Hill Clinical Doctorate of Audiology (AuD) students Mark Moore and Sarah Obarowski earned first place honors at the 2015 Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA) Student Business Plan Competition.

The Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA) awarded UNC-Chapel Hill Clinical Doctorate of Audiology (AuD) students Mark Moore and Sarah Obarowski first place honors and a $5,000 cash grant during the third annual ADA Student Business Plan Competition, held November 13, in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Stephanie Sjoblad mentored Obarowski and Moore. The project began in SPHS 823, a course titled Business and Practice Management in Audiology.

“The business savvy and hard work demonstrated by Mark and Sarah, over the past six months of competition, exemplifies what it takes to successfully manage an audiology clinic,” said ADA President Rita Chaiken, AuD.

Moore and Obarowski are scheduled to graduate in 2016. Read more about the competition here.
