Speech and Hearing Sciences PhD candidate honored for research in hearing loss at annual UNC School of Medicine Student Research Day
Congratulations to Speech and Hearing Sciences PhD candidate Nancy Quick, whose presentation on hearing loss won recognition from the UNC School of Medicine. Quick’s presentation, titled “Significant cognitive disabilities and hearing loss: “Can you hear me now?” was one of more than 100 entries as a part of Student Research Day. “I realized that the connection of how hearing impacts learning and education hasn’t been made in the community of educators that work with this population,” Quick said. “I’ve taken this up as my new focus to make sure these kids get access to what they need because I think they have great potential that’s been untapped.”
