Clinical laboratory science and medical technology students from programs across the state were invited to submit proposals to present their work at the symposium. The symposium was a joint meeting held by the North Carolina Society for Clinical Laboratory Science and the North Carolina State Society for American Medical Technologists.

The Division of Clinical Laboratory Science is housed in the UNC School of Medicine Department of Allied Health Sciences.
