Of Tan, one nominator wrote: “The UNC School of Medicine has three missions: to care for patients, to educate students; and to advance knowledge through research. In my twenty years as a faculty member at UNC, I have never worked with a manager or administrator who has done more to ensure that we are worthy of the pursuit of our missions. The University is truly fortunate to have a managerial professional so committed to the university’s excellence.” Tan has worked for the DAHS for more than 15 years.
