The Interdisciplinary Human Movement Research Lab studies interactions between the neuromuscular control of human movements and external environments. The focus of the lab’s research is neurological disorders, primarily stroke and multiple sclerosis. Those who have had a stroke or have been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis can experience difficulty with walking. Thus, the Interdisciplinary Lab aspires to promote improved walking ability and encourage behavioral change so that people feel more comfortable walking in their daily lives.
