Exemption from PT/PTA Licensure for out of state licensees during NC State of Emergency

Per NC Governor Executive Orders 116 and 130 and the NC PT Practice Act, the Board has the authority to waive licensure requirements for physical therapists and physical therapist assistants licensed in another jurisdiction of the United States, who enter North Carolina to provide physical therapy during a declared local, State, or national disaster or emergency.  To apply for a privilege to practice in NC during the declared state of emergency, an out of state licensee should complete the form below.  You will receive a confirmation email of application and after Board review, will receive notification being granted via an emailed letter outlining the terms of practice privileges.  Click here
