Planned Gift FAQs

What is planned giving?

Planned giving encompasses a variety of philanthropic strategies that help you provide for charity while also advancing your own financial and personal objectives. We will work with you and your financial and legal advisors to establish planned giving arrangements that benefit you, your family, and the UNC Chapel Hill Rehabilitation Counseling and Psychology program. We cannot, however, provide legal and tax advice and we urge you to consult with your advisors concerning any gift to the Foundation.

How do I benefit from a planned gift?

Planned gifts can yield you and your family benefits such as:

  • Ability to make a significant gift to Carolina and the Rehabilitation Counseling and Psychology program in line with your objectives
  • Income for life
  • Expert management and investment diversification from the Medical Foundation of North Carolina’s investment experts
  • Savings on income and capital gains taxes
  • Savings on gift and estate taxes
