What is Audiology?

An audiologist is a professional who diagnoses and treats hearing and balance problems. An audiologist has received an AuD (Doctor in Audiology), or a master’s or doctoral degree from an accredited university graduate program in audiology. Audiologists are trained to diagnose, manage and treat hearing or balance problems for individuals from birth through adulthood.

Who are we?

We are Doctor of Audiology (AuD) students from the UNC School of Medicine. We are looking to spread the word about audiology, what it is, what it can do, and why it is important.

What do we do?

We do community outreach and volunteer with many organizations including the Special Olympics, HITCH-UP, the CARE Project, Walk 4 Hearing, and many others. We are hoping to educate the public about audiology, increase student knowledge about audiology and promote organizations and causes that we are passionate about.
