Cornejo

"I chose the field of speech-language pathology because I wanted to help enable people to effectively communicate and interact with the world around them. I have a particular interest in working with adults who have communication disorders as a result of a brain pathology, whether that be the result of a stroke, a traumatic brain injury, or a progressive disease such as Parkinson’s or Alzheimer’s disease. Verbal communication is such a vital part of an individual’s quality of life, and I hope that I am able to restore that ability for many of my future patients. I am very thankful for the awarding of this scholarship, as it alleviates some of the financial burden of attending graduate school and allows me to focus my attention on learning and gaining knowledge to be a competent clinician."
