Holistic is defined as emphasizing the importance of the whole rather than the analysis of its individual parts.

The Admissions Committee is focused on taking a holistic approach to viewing each application beyond the required minimums to garner a sense of who each applicant is and how they can contribute to the classroom, program, profession, and community at large.

What We Look For In Our Applicants

Evidence of maturity, motivation, academic potential, communication and interpersonal skills, knowledge of the PA profession, the health care system and the unique mission of the UNC PA program are strongly considered during the admission process.

All portions of the application are reviewed by the Admissions Committee with special focus on:

    • Alignment with Program Mission and Goals
    • CASPA Supplemental Essays
    • GPAs
    • Health Care Experience
    • Military Experience
    • Personal Statements
    • Community Service
