Research Assistant, Writing Model Project
Steven earned their Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2019. During their time in university, Steven completed an independent thesis project relating to the effects of heteronormativity on sexual minorities (osf.io/s3qjc). They are passionate about research with marginalized communities and vulnerable individuals, focusing on positive mental health outcomes, resilience, and self-acceptance. Steven is interested in studying how children of diverse backgrounds and identities learn essential skills (reading and writing) and how targeted interventions can help them succeed in and beyond early childhood education. Outside of work, Steven loves to play video games, create artwork, and bake elaborate deserts.
