Scientists are learning more every day about how the human brain develops, from embryo to fetus to baby. They’re also studying the ways that external factors affect the brain’s development.<\/p>\n

The illustration at right shows the brain of a fetus at 38 weeks in gestation. What are some of the factors that might have affected its development?<\/p>\n

The Science 360 interactive presentation, led by a Morehead Planetarium and Science Center educator, examines some of those scientists’ findings and what else scientists may discover about the developing brain.<\/p>\n

Recommended for ages 8 and older. This Science 360 is supported by a National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism grant.<\/p>\n
