National Leaders in Enhanced Recovery After Surgery
This is the official website of the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (“ERAS”) Program at UNC Chapel Hill.
Enhanced Recovery After Surgery is a collaborative, multidisciplinary initiative between the departments of Anesthesiology and Surgery to improve the perioperative care of patients at UNC.
First implemented in July 2014, the program now positively impacts over 1,000 patients a year.

Pathway Changes with July Epic@UNC Update
Based on feedback from Clinical Pathway users, changes have been made to the Colorectal ERAS Clinical Pathway to improve accuracy, understanding, and user experience. All changes will take place with the July 21, 2019 Epic@UNC update.

UNC Medical Center and UNC Rex will be launching a new Colorectal ERAS Clinical Pathway on Tuesday, May 21st, to help us provide the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Abstract Accepted to the 2019 Annual ASER Congress
We have had an abstract accepted to the American Society for Enhanced Recovery 2019 Annual Congress! The title of our presentation is: Utilizing Technology to Increase Inclusion of ERAS Pathways in a Hospital Opioid Stewardship Program.
