By combining complementary expertise in human clinical cohorts and animal models, the teams demonstrated that\u00a0<\/span>IL-10\u2013producing monocytes play a key role in resolving inflammatory pain and contribute to sex differences in pain recovery.\u00a0Importantly, enhancing IL-10\u2013positive monocytes in animals accelerated pain recovery in both sexes, highlighting a potential therapeutic pathway to prevent the transition from acute to chronic pain.
