Shadowing in healthcare and in the operating room (OR) can be an incredibly valuable experience for those interested in medicine, particularly for students or aspiring healthcare professionals. It can also help with engagement and understanding how different roles within medicine work together to support clinical efforts.<\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 43.9884%;text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-21274\" src=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/anesthesiology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/470\/2025\/03\/Shadower-w-physician-e1742583557605-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>In order to shadow, there are several steps that must first happen. Please carefully review the steps below if you are interested in shadowing with one of our clinicians.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">Prior to reaching out to us to request shadowing, please make sure you have completed all the shadow requirements through <a style=\"text-align: center;background-color: #ffffff\" href=\"https:\/\/www.uncmedicalcenter.org\/uncmc\/support\/volunteer-services\/shadowing\/\"><strong>UNC Medical Center Volunteer Services: Shadowing Requirements<\/strong><\/a>. Please do not submit those documents but have them completed and ready to submit (eg, UNC Health Compliance Modules, Immunization and Testing Requirements).
