Led by the Gold Humanism Society, \u201cThank a Resident and Fellow Day\u201d each year celebrates physician specialists and subspecialists in training as vital to patient care leadership and as critical team members in the healthcare workforce.<\/p>\n<p>This year, UNC Hospitals joins teaching hospitals across the U.S. in celebrating\u00a0its post-graduate learners for \u201cThank a Resident and Fellow Day\u201d on Friday, February 23<sup>rd<\/sup>.\u00a0 The Office of GME, Gold Humanism Society UNC School of Medicine students and UNC Anesthesiology members were on hand at the NC Cancer Hospital to thank trainees going on duty with a grab-and-go breakfast and appreciation gifts. Hospital-wide, faculty wore their appreciation with \u201cWe Love our Residents and Fellows\u201d buttons.<\/p>\n<p>UNC Anesthesiology Resident Program Director <strong>Susie Martinelli, MD, FASA,<\/strong> noted: &#8220;Our top priority as the UNC Department of Anesthesiology is providing outstanding care to the people of North Carolina.
