The department&#8217;s Obstetric Anesthesia team &amp; all who work in L&amp;D at UNC Medical Center (Chapel Hill and Hillsborough campuses) join four other UNC Health system hospitals statewide that were designated &#8220;high performing&#8221; in this year&#8217;s <em>UNC News &amp; World<\/em> maternity care rankings. The four other North Carolina UNC Health hospitals include: UNC Health Rex (Raleigh), UNC Health Nash (Rocky Mount), UNC Health Rockingham (Eden) and UNC Health Appalachian (Watauga Medical Center &#8211; Boone, NC). <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-20589\" src=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/anesthesiology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/470\/2024\/12\/US-News-High-Performing-Hospitals--300x260.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"173\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/anesthesiology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/470\/2024\/12\/US-News-High-Performing-Hospitals--300x260.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/anesthesiology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/470\/2024\/12\/US-News-High-Performing-Hospitals-.jpg 339w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>UNC Professor of Anesthesiology and Obstetrics &amp; Gynecology and Obstetric Anesthesia Division Chief <strong>Kathleen A.
