Each academic year, a four-week, non-clinical Academic Medicine Rotation exposes PGY1s several months after beginning their intern year to aspects of medicine not easily taught in the OR. Faculty mentors assigned to each PGY1 guide them through developing projects centered around professionalism, teaching, leadership, the business of medicine, public speaking, and quality improvement.<\/p>\n<p><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">At the completion of this rotation, PGY1s present their projects to a department audience in a Grand Rounds-style forum. Some examples of this year&#8217;s project presentations included: 1) <em>Epic-durals: Standaridizing Intraoperative Management of Thoracic Epidurals;\u00a0<\/em>2)\u00a0<em>Have We MET? Evaluating Anesthesiology Provider Knowledge of Metabolic Equivalents<\/em>; and 3)\u00a0<em>Seal the Deal: Pre-Splitting BOugie Packages for Difficult Airway
