Apple Professional Learning Clinic – Using the iPad for More Engaged Medical Instruction

December 3, 2019 @ 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM

School of Medicine IT and the Offices of Medical Education (OME) are hosting an Apple Professional

Learning (APL) Day Clinic to highlight how iPads can be integrated into curriculum to “create innovative

instruction that engages students more deeply” (Apple Education).

Whether teaching in large group lectures, small group sessions, or clinical settings, iPads provide students

with advanced educational tools and technologies which allow them to:

  • increase productivity
  • access the latest study tools and medical apps
  • diagram medical imagery
  • share their content wirelessly in our updated classrooms

You can register online for any of the following sessions at http://go.unc.edu/appleclinic

  • 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM – Large Group Interactive Lectures

(for Block/Coil Leaders and Teaching Faculty)

  • 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM – Small Group Teaching Sessions

(for Block/Coil Leaders and Teaching Faculty)

  • 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM – Using iPads in Medical Education

(for Students)

***  iPads will be provided for all attendees, so no need to bring your own.  ***

This event is open to faculty*, staff, and students, but space is limited. Please register early

to reserve your space.

*(Faculty, please note: Academy of Educators is offering one event credit toward the annual

four-session attendance requirement for AOE membership.)

We hope you can join us to experience first-hand how Apple provides a more engaging learning experience

for our students. If you have any questions, please contact Sten Swenson, Director of Academic Technology

Services, at sten_swenson@med.unc.edu.
