In partnership with the Center for Academic Innovation at the University of Michigan, Penn’s Online Learning Initiative, the McGraw Center for Teaching and Learning at Princeton, and the Stanford Center for Professional Development, Duke Learning Innovation is co-hosting the Pandemic Pedagogy Research Symposium on May 5, 2021. This event is an opportunity to bring together educators and education researchers for interactive presentations and panel discussions on new and emerging research related to teaching and learning during the pandemic with a focus on applied scholarship that advances the art and science of teaching.
While the covid-19 pandemic brought many challenges to higher education, it also pushed both students and faculty members to become more flexible, adaptive, and experimental in how they approach teaching and learning. This event will showcase emerging research on new teaching practices and pedagogies that have the potential to improve on-campus, online and hybrid/flexible teaching models post-pandemic.
The Symposium will be held virtually over Zoom. Though we wish we could meet together in person, we are excited by the benefits of this new format – mainly that it allows us to reach and bring together even more people from across the country and around the globe, strengthening the network of people passionate about the art and science of teaching.
