WakeMed – Grand Rounds – Understanding ACES (Adverse Childhood Experiences) effects on lifelong health: Using Trauma Informed Care to Build Resilience for Patients and Providers

Save the date for the upcoming Grand Rounds with Dr. Amy Weil on March 19th from 12:30-1:30PM – location: WakeMed Andrews Conference Center, ground floor, rooms 1 & 2.

At the conclusion of the talk learners will:

  1. Be familiar with Adverse Childhood Experiences Study and the epidemiology, mechanisms and health effects of exposure to trauma throughout the lifespan.
  2. Understand the importance of trauma Informed approaches to healthcare to mitigate health effects for patients and providers.
  3. Acquire tools for communication and physical exam that can make their practice more trauma-informed.
  4. Learn about and experience some resilience practices that they can teach others and which can sustain them as they practice trauma informed care.
