WakeMed – Grand Rounds – Understanding ACES (Adverse Childhood Experiences) effects on lifelong health: Using Trauma Informed Care to Build Resilience for Patients and Providers

Save the date for the upcoming Grand Rounds with Dr. Amy Weil on March 19th from 12:30-1:30PM – location: WakeMed Andrews Conference Center, ground floor, rooms 1 & 2.
At the conclusion of the talk learners will:
- Be familiar with Adverse Childhood Experiences Study and the epidemiology, mechanisms and health effects of exposure to trauma throughout the lifespan.
- Understand the importance of trauma Informed approaches to healthcare to mitigate health effects for patients and providers.
- Acquire tools for communication and physical exam that can make their practice more trauma-informed.
- Learn about and experience some resilience practices that they can teach others and which can sustain them as they practice trauma informed care.
