His clinical expertise spans interstitial lung disease\, bronchiectasis\, non-tuberculosis mycobacterial infections\, general pulmonology\, and critical care medicine. Dr. Patel serves as a Foundation Phase Academic Coach for first- and second-year medical students\, supporting them in optimizing study strategies\, mindset\, and time management. He is also deeply engaged in curriculum development for residents and fellows and is passionate about reducing burnout among trainees in high-intensity clinical environments.

DESCRIPTION:Speaker:\nDr. Shenvi is passionate about teaching\, learning\, deliberate practice\, and innovative pedagogy. She completed her undergraduate degree at Princeton University\, PhD at UC-Berkeley\, received her MD from Yale School of Medicine\, and completed her residency in Emergency Medicine and a fellowship in Geriatric EM at UNC-Chapel Hill. She is a tenured associate professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine and has been engaged in educational leadership in many areas. She is co-director of medical student case-based learning and the UNC Academy of Educators president. She has previously served as Director of the UNC Office of Academic Excellence for the School of Medicine\, EM Associate Residency Director\, EM clerkship director\, and president of the Association for Professional Women in Medical Sciences. She also leads the national ACEP teaching fellowship for faculty and fellows in EM. Within the AOE\, she also co-directs the year-long FLAGship faculty development program. She has been a part of the AOE Leadership Council since its formation in 2018.
