However, Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants will only be permitted to declare death if their collaborative practice or supervisory agreement authorize them to do so. As a result, any Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant who wishes to declare death at UNC Hospitals will need to discuss with his or her supervising physician and enter into a collaborative practice or supervisory agreement with the appropriate language.
