Prioritization of Requests<\/h3>\n

Rotations are NOT based on first-come first-served basis.\u00a0 APP student rotation requests MUST adhere to the application deadlines and are prioritized as follows:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. UNC-Chapel Hill students<\/li>\n
  2. UNC Health employees<\/li>\n
  3. Other UNC system schools<\/li>\n
  4. Other in state schools<\/li>\n
  5. NC residents attending out of state programs<\/li>\n
  6. Out of state students in out of state programs<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Important Deadlines<\/h3>\n

    Due to the high volume of NP, PA, CNM, DNP and MSN student clinical rotation requests, requests must only be placed during specified date ranges so that the requests can be prioritized by the APP Center.\u00a0 NP, PA, CNM, DNP, and MSN students must apply during the appropriate time period based on the start date of the rotation.\u00a0 Use the chart below to determine when to apply.\u00a0 If you have more than one rotation request, you MUST submit a separate application for EACH rotation request<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    General OBGYN: <\/strong>Currently, there are VERY LIMITED Women’s Health rotations available in general OBGYN.\u00a0 G<\/strong>eneral OBGYN rotations are ONLY for students who are focused on Women’s Health for their career or who have prior Women’s Health experience.\u00a0 General OBGYN does not precept FNP students who need to fulfill a general women’s health requirement without an interest in women’s health.<\/p>\n

    Also, there are LIMITED opportunities for Primary Care rotations at UNC Hospital\/SOM Clinics for all patient populations (Adult PC and Pediatric PC).<\/strong> \u00a0The number of potential primary care APP preceptors is quite small because UNC Hospitals\/SOM clinics have very few APPs in general primary care.\u00a0 Most of the providers at the Primary Care clinics are physicians.\u00a0 However, the APP Center ONLY has APPs in its preceptor data base because the physicians precept Medical Students.<\/p>\n

    NOTE<\/span>:\u00a0 <\/i>Applications are ONLY accepted for the UPCOMING academic period.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>The APP Center ONLY reviews rotation request applications that are submitting during the time periods listed on the table.\u00a0 <\/em>\u00a0Requests for rotations beyond the next academic cycle will NOT be considered:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\t\n\n\t\n\t\n\t\n\t\n\t
