Assistant Dean for Practice, Tom Bush, was voted president-elect of the Association of Post Graduate APRN Programs (APGAP) at its annual meeting held in Phoenix, AZ in October. He will assume the role of president in October 2018.
\nFounded in 2014, APGAP\u2019s focus is on the development and operationalization of Nurse Practitioner fellowship programs nationwide. The annual meeting is geared towards program design, learning methods, competency development, and outcomes evaluation of APRN postgraduate programs.<\/p>\n

BIOSKETCH<\/p>\n

Tom is an associate professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Schools of Nursing and Medicine. He earned an undergraduate degree in nursing from The University of Kentucky, a Master\u2019s degree from Vanderbilt University and a Doctoral degree from East Carolina University College of Nursing. His clinical experience ranges from critical care to primary care and he maintains a musculoskeletal practice in the Department of Orthopedics at the UNC School of Medicine where he serves as program director of the nation\u2019s only Orthopedic NP fellowship. He is a former North Carolina AANP State Representative and was inducted as an AANP Fellow in 2011.<\/p>\n
