Some forms of sexual assault include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Attempted rape<\/li>\n<li>Fondling or unwanted sexual touching<\/li>\n<li>Forcing a victim to perform sexual acts, such as oral sex or penetrating the perpetrator\u2019s body<\/li>\n<li>Penetration of the victim\u2019s body, also known as rape<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>~RAINN.org<\/p>\n<div class = \"alert alert-danger  oscitas-bootstrap-container\">\n<h3>IMPORTANT NOTICE<\/h3>\n<p>If you are a service provider at UNC Hospitals and you have a patient that discloses a recent sexual assault and is seeking medical attention, please DO NOT call the Beacon Program. Please contact the Emergency Department at 984-974-4721 and request a SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner). To provide support and advocacy for the patient contact Orange County Rape Crisis Center at 866-935-4783 and an advocate will respond and support the patient.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Resources<\/h2>\n<h3>NC Resources<\/h3>\n<h4><a title=\"NC Rape Crisis Centers\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nccasa.org\/need-help\/nc-rape-crisis-centers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">North Carolina Coalition Against Sexual Assault<\/a><\/h4>\n<p>Through education, advocacy and legislation, NCCASA advocates and supports the rights of survivors of sexual assault and the individuals and organizations that support them.<\/p>\n<h3>National Resources<\/h3>\n<h4><a title=\"Sexual Assault Resources\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rainn.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">RAINN<\/a> (Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network)<\/h4>\n<p>RAINN (Rape, Abuse &amp; Incest National Network) is the nation&#8217;s largest anti-sexual violence organization. RAINN created and operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline (800.656.HOPE, <a href=\"https:\/\/ohl.rainn.org\/online\/\">online.rainn.org<\/a> y <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rainn.org\/es\/\">rainn.org\/es<\/a>) in partnership with more than 1,000 local sexual assault service providers across the country and operates the DoD Safe Helpline for the Department of Defense. RAINN also carries out programs to prevent sexual violence, help victims, and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice.<\/p>\n<h4><a title=\"Sexual Assault Resources for Providers\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nsvrc.org\/resources\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">National Sexual Violence Resource Center<\/a> (NSVRC)<\/h4>\n<p>The NSVRC\u2019s Mission is to provide leadership in preventing and responding to sexual violence through collaboration, sharing and creating resources, and promoting research.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sexual Assault Sexual assault can take many different forms, but one thing remains the same: it\u2019s never the victim\u2019s fault.
